Pacific pink salmon
Pacific pink salmon - Oncorhynchus gorbuscha - pin bone out
Wild caught salmon can be found in rivers and seas in the Northwest of America, Alaska, Canada and Eastern Russia. The fish are born in freshwater streams and migrate as young salmon to salt water where they grow into adult salmon. As adults, salmon mainly live in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean. When the animals are sexually mature, they swim from salt water into river systems, back to where they were born. The salmon are caught after the spawning period.
These wild salmon portions have a pale pink colour and a firm structure. The fish meat is lean and healthy.
